cool thats probably it then, the -16.

the processor trick is with the dev tools. there's a prefpane where u can turn off individual cores, and turn off hyperthreading. too bad there's not a dev tool for overclocking ;)

alright. let us know how the -16 works. i've read on the folding forums about some people having more success with -15, you might even give that a try also

We might take team Lituania today ;)

    i hope so

One question, what is he doing to that rabbit?

    What a strange clip!

Hehehehehe... when I was watching that I thought the rabbit was gonna spin around and eat the little guy!

Kinda like Microsoft were the big guy and Apple were the lil' guy...

    Hmmmm.....

Bin Laden was more than the figurehead of Al Qaeda, he was the money guyworking on fund-raising and logistical support. Bin Laden was never a fighter, in fact some of the Taliban thought very little of him until he proved to be a valuable source of funding and weaponry. However, the events of 9/11 made him a folk hero and a figurehead of Al Qaeda.

I agree. I also think that his presence in Islamabad, rather than in a small village in the border region, indicates that Bin Laden might have been more in charge of operations in the last few years than we thought. While Al Qaeda has become diffuseAl Qaeda in Iraq shares its name and ideology, but is for all intents and purposes a separate organizationthe death of Bin Laden might complicate recruiting. Al Qaeda no longer has its invincible hero.

On the other hand, it has gained a martyr. Additionally, this may make Pakistan much more dangerous for US interests. Al Qaeda and its supporters will undoubtedly make the Pakistani government pay for this.

Lastly, wonder if this was connected to what Raymond Davis was up to? He was in Lahore, but was the CIA in the midst of working on a serious lead when Davis was nearly intercepted by ISI agents?
I expect to see more fractionalization among the ISI and Pakistan's government. The perception was that he was not in charge for a few years. If he was in a mansion and not a cave he might have still have a bigger role than we thought. I don't think this will end Al Qaeda but it could slow them down for a while.

If joe pc-user becomes joe mac-user, then macs wont be fun anymore :(

That said, i'd like to see market share go up in certain areas. A lot more scientists are switching (mostly switching back, after ditching around late 90s) these days.

It's hard to be an elitist mac user if you're no longer in the minority...

????? When did this happen? You do realize that 99% of consumers don't follow this stuff that close and have no idea when products are released.
That is why I put a mild sarcasm tag at the end of my post, guess this did not work and I have to use [/sarcasm] to get my point across.

No one is pissing over google's work. It was a response to one of your s*****[censored] comments, here:

Don't remove the , it indicates the sarcasm in that comment. I was pointing out to the guy the fallacy of his argument in diminishing Google's work that he was also diminishing Apple's work on OS X.

I believe both companies have a lot of merit for what they did. I'm not pro-anything or anti-anything here. The point of my comment was to say that Apple and Google put in a lot of effort into making their OSes.

Now you're arguing what exactly aside from just wanting to insult me ?

You replied to a person who was talking about ChromeOS being just a giant browser which is absolutely true.

Absolutely true ? When did Web browsers start to do process scheduling, user input, graphical sub-systems, GUI frameworks, hardware interaction, etc.. etc..

Chrome OS is much more than a browser, it's very much a OS who's desktop environnement happens to be a Web browser, rather than a file explorer like Finder.

Again, let's drop the Google hate. It has no place in this thread. Why do you insist on beating on them ? Leave the corporate politic between Steve and Eric (now Larry) and let's discuss OS X some.

Phil Schiller recently that it isn't going to happen. "absolutely not, the R&D would be prohibitive and were not going to do it. Our solution is dual boot." (http://www.macworld.com/news/2006/07/07/windowsmac/index.php) At the same time, they are happy to promote Parallels (http://www.apple.com/getamac/windows.html).

schiller also said i think the day before boot camp was announced that apple wouldn't prevent users from putting windows on the intel macs, but they wouldn't facilitate it either.

apple is notorious for saying one thing and then turning around and doing the exact opposite the video ipod being a perfect example. i'm not saying it will happen, i'm just saying don't put much stock in comments from apple execs regarding future products.

I'm not sure if it's just a bunch of "computer guys" around here, but in the gaming world Xbox 360 has a fair amount of cultural cachet. It's not my cup of tea, but it's pretty dang popular with youth culture. Microsoft already has a highly successful, profitable, and critically lauded online service in Xbox Live, with millions of subscribers.

I think it's a bit of wishful thinking to claim MS will "screw this up", since the infrastructure is already there, and it's already functioning in a lot of young people's homes.

Look, I'm the biggest Apple fan I know, but Microsoft has proven over and over that they can move into an arena with another market leader and chip away. They lost hundreds of millions on the Xbox, and went right ahead and made a successor. They don't care if they lose some money, because eventually, they will make money.

I would love to see iPod continue its success, but, aside from a current lead in marketshare, Microsoft has a lot going for it this time around.

I had to turn off all location services, ect to squeek through the 8 hour day and plug it in after work at under 10%. Hope this update fixes the battery drain issue!

Why is MS so bad for limiting how you can run their software? Apple won't let you install their OS on any machine that's not made by them. The "no virtualization" restriction seems pretty lax compared to that. Especially when you consider that MS is doing nothing to enforce it, and Apple has included hardware/software to block the use of their software on 'unauthorized' hardware.

But if we agree that the development of a secure OS is all about utilizing sound design, coding and auditing processes, then we must also accept that the challenge will be very difficult for Apple to meet: You just cannot do that with Open Source...
Sure you can. What you can't do is grab stuff and assume that it does the right thing without checking it for yourself. That's equally true for software developed in house, or developed by subcontractors or commercial partners. It has little at all to do with public vs. private source code.

It didn't take my 10 year old son long to figure out that he could continue to download apps after asking me to download one for him. Now, if he wants a free app, I wait for it to finish downloading and then i log out of my account before i hand his touch back to him!

"iX" = "Ix", which is the nickname for the character Ford Prefect in the book "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy".

Obviously, the new Apple device is either a digital watch or a towel.

It's the new iWatch nano with a built in towel rack!

    Ok, I'm convinced.

Also, comparing a product that hasn't been released yet to a product that hasn't been announced yet is a rather weak argument and makes zero sense.
