Hi Fellow forum users
I and my spouse both have primary/derivative through each other. However I only have EAD (dependent) through my spouse's principal AOS. Can I use that to change my job? I dont have time to apply for a principal EAD. Once I start the new job in dependent EAD can I apply for an EAD based on my primary AOS so that my new employer can drop a AC21 mail to USCIS? The reason I want to do this is to maintain my principal AOS as well.

I am currently working for Company A and have an approved I-140 with Company B, PD May 2004, EB2 category.
Company B applied from my H1- transfer last week, not under PERM though.
I do not yet have the receipt number of the H1 transfer and it may take 2 to 3 months for the actual H1 transfer to happen.
With the PD current, I have the following questions
1> Do I have to wait for the actual H1-transfer to finish before filling my I-485 or is it OK to start the I-485 with a receipt #?
My guess is the I-485 is an adjustment of status and since GC processing by an employer is for future employement it should'nt even matter if I am an employee when filling I-485 with the employer.
Can some experts/ senior members comment and throw some light on the matter.

I am silent visitor of this forum for last few months though, I seek some advice form you guys in forum. I just got I140(On May 5th 2008) approved and my priority date 23rd Jan 2004. As per the visa current bulletin I am with in the cutoff dates. I have job offer but I did not accept so far because I 140 was not approved but after I 140 I thought of changing the job (same offer) using AC21 portability, since I fall in current cutoff dates,
My question is this safe to change the job when priority date fall with in current cutoff dates?
GOT RFE on I 140 on Apri 1st 2008

Hi,
Right now NSC shows that the processing dates are "August 10, 2007". What does this mean? Does it mean that
a)All apps with notice dates before Aug 10, 2007 are processed?
b)All apps with receipt dates before Aug 10, 2007 are processed?
c)All apps with notice dates after Aug 10, 2007 are being processed?
d)All apps with receipt dates after Aug 10, 2007 are being processed?

And it is reinforced by a massive poll released last week by Andrew Kohut and the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press.
The survey of 2,007 people, conducted in December and January, depicts a dramatic shift in Americans' attitudes, opinions and values between 1994, when Republicans took control of Congress, and now. Most of the change has occurred since George Bush took office in 2001.
The poll, which can be found at http://www.people-press.org, is a treasure trove of information about Americans' views of the parties, government, the world scene, religion, the economy, business, labor and a dozen other topics.
But a word of caution is in order. There is little here that suggests voters' opinion of Democrats is much higher than it was when they lost Congress in 1994. It seems doubtful that Democrats can help themselves a great deal just by tearing down an already discredited Republican administration with more investigations such as the current attack on the Justice Department and White House over the firings of eight U.S. attorneys.
At some point, Democrats have to give people something to vote for. People already know what they're against -- the Republicans.

However, no one was prepared for today's announcement from the State Department that most of the family-based categories will retrogress between one and three years beginning on January 1, 2011. Consider the worldwide categories: Beginning in January 1, the 1st preference category (unmarried sons and daughters of U.S. citizens) goes from a 5-year to a 6-year wait. I was under the impression that they send only one notice for each case and that too to the attorney.My attorney has send me a mail that he received the receipt notices and the original would have been sent to the employer.In case the employer has not received,he will send me a copy.
Do i need to have the original receipts.I have a valid L1 stamping and planning to travel early next month.I heard that i need to have atleast receipt notices if i dont have the AP approval by then.
