The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced today that it served Notices of Inspection upon 652 businesses around the country. Compare this with the 508 businesses which received Notices of Inspection in fiscal year 2008. An ICE spokesman told the press: "Part of the strategy is to show businesses that we mean business." Guys, Due to all this mess up with dates I decided to file 485/EAD/AP myself and for my wife on 6/29; so filled up everything, attached copies, photos and what not and FedExed all to USICS on June 30 to hit them on 2nd July.
Now I see that by mistake I have put my SSN on my wife's 765. She has been always on H4, never had SSN.
1. What can be the consequence of this mistake?
2. Should I try to pull it back from USICS and submit again (if it's at all possible)

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said there are not enough votes for the Obama administration to achieve its desired immigration reform, and change in the system as we know it today.
The plan was derailed when conservative activists, who claimed the program would have constituted "amnesty" for illegal immigrants, managed to pick off enough Republicans in the House and Senate to forestall a vote. Gibbs said that the White House would make an effort, though, to win the votes for a reform plan, for which President Obama reiterated his support.

I had applied on July 19th to Nebraska. My I-140 was approved from TX.
Today I received transfer notice WAC...., mentioning that they have transferred my case to TX Service center.
The receipt date is of Sep 14th, Notice date of Sep 17th'2007.
Does it mean I lost the original filing receipt date of July 20th'2007.

I applied H1-B for my wife who was not in US at the time of application. The H1-B was applied as an out-of-country option. This would mean that this will not be a change-of-status automatically from H-4 to H1B from 1st Oct as it usually happens. To get into H1-B status, she will have to get it stamped outside of US. It seems her application has been selected in the lottery as we received the receipt notice on May 8th.
My question is - As now she is in US - can I change the processing to say change-of-status from H4 to H1B instead? This would eliminate her going outside the US for stamping. Please respond. Thanks.

I am looking for work. Not too concerned with how much money I make, but would like some money for jobs. I can program some mildly advanced AS, and I can draw some Flash vector art, as well as pixel art. I have Macromedia Freehand, so if you need pictures traced for use in Flash, I can do it, save it as a .eps and email it to you. If anyone has any work for me, please post or PM me.

Hello -
Can anyone suggest if there is a way to check the priority date on a I-485 application after an interfile request has been made? I am not sure if a call to the Service Center is the only way, or if there is a form I can submit requesting this information.
The context of my question is this: My original I-485 application was filed based on a LC/I-140 approved by PERM with PD May 2005. But later, as part of backlog elimination, an older LC for me with PD Aug 2004 was cleared and my company's immigration law firm got another I-140 approved based on this earlier LC. They've told me that they contacted USCIS with a request to get my I-485 attached to the older PD. I would like to get this confirmed since a 9 month gap in PDs can easily translate to years more of waiting time.
Thanks in advance to anyone that can help out or suggest if I should be doing anything different with getting the PD of my I-485 changed.

I94 date doesnt matter for entry on AP as parolee status.
Just continue on H1 or EAD whichever you have been using and keep extending AP too for travel.

Hi All,
I have a question regarding my wife's H1B Status.
My wife got H1B stamped in hyderabad consulate last year. Due to recession, she applied for H4 to join me in US, got H4 stamping in hyderabad, during which
H1 Visa was cancelled[expected..]. we have H1B Petition docs which says it is valid for 3 years. My wife came to US on H4.
Now can't she apply for Change of status from H4 to H1 as we have petition docs, which are valid for 3 years?
when contacted the actual employer, they said, when H1 visa is cancelled, it means, H1B petition also cancelled. Is it true?
Please suggest.

I have both, but Cinema is seems easier. But 3d max as the ability to have better materials. Well who knows, I guess I should really start learning 3D, it's just that it's soooo hard.

We received our H1B renewal approvals last week, and noticed on my wife's 797A that class type mentioned as H1B for the petition type I-539. It's supposed to be H4.
I informed our attorney and she emailed CSC about the same.
Has any one come across a similar thing ?
